The Power of the Resurrection

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:14 (NIV) –  “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”

Introduction

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Without it, our faith would be meaningless. Yet, because He lives, we have hope, redemption, and the promise of eternal life. This sermon will explore the significance of the resurrection and how it impacts our daily lives.

I. Jesus’ Victory Over Death

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
– 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NIV)

II. Hope for Eternal Life

Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'”
– John 11:25-26 (NIV)

III. Living in Resurrection Power

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
– Romans 8:11 (NIV)

Conclusion:

The resurrection is more than just a historical event—it is the foundation of our faith. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow with confidence.
