Walking in God’s Purpose

Introduction

Everyone wants to know their purpose. Why am I here? What am I meant to do? The good news is that God has a plan for each of us—one filled with hope, direction, and significance. Today, we will explore how to discover and walk in God’s purpose for our lives.

I. God Created You with a Purpose

  • You are not an accident. Before you were even born, God had a plan for your life.
  • Example: David was just a shepherd boy, but God saw him as a king (1 Samuel 16:7).
  • Application: No matter where you are in life, God has placed gifts and a calling inside of you.

Key Verse: Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

II. Walking in God’s Purpose Requires Trust

  • God’s timing is different from ours—His purpose is revealed step by step.
  • Example: Joseph had a dream of greatness but went through years of hardship before stepping into his destiny (Genesis 50:20).
  • Application: Don’t get discouraged in the waiting season. Trust that God is working even when you don’t see it.

Key Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

III. Obedience Leads to Fulfillment

  • Knowing your purpose isn’t enough—you must walk in it with faith and obedience.
  • Example: Jonah ran from God’s purpose, but when he obeyed, lives were changed (Jonah 3:10).
  • Application: What is God calling you to do? Take the next step in faith.

Key Verse: James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

Conclusion: Step Into Your Calling

  • God’s plan is greater than anything we can imagine.
  • He calls us to trust Him, follow His voice, and live with purpose every day.
  • Take a step today—serve, give, pray, and seek His will!

🙏 Prayer: Lord, help me to trust in Your plan. Guide my steps, and let my life be a reflection of Your purpose. Amen.
